It’s been five years since I bought my front-loading washing machine. Every time I washed my baby’s clothes, I’d feel uneasy, wondering if any contaminants might be lingering inside the machine, but after this drum cleaning service, it felt like even those long-standing worries had been completely washed away.

On the 28th, two LGELECTRONICS Care Managers visited my home to clean the washing machine. I was informed that the cleaning process would take about two hours.

First, they inspected the current condition of the washing machine. Just like a car’s dashcam, the washing machine stores a history of its usage, so they checked to see if there had been any issues during its operation. After that, the actual disassembly began.

Kim Woo-jae, a senior care manager at LGELECTRONICS, explained, “Many customers request a deep cleaning before having a child,” adding, “We clean the washing machine with water using specialized high-pressure equipment, without using any chemicals.”

After the internal high-pressure cleaning was completed, steam sterilization and ultraviolet (UV) sterilization were also performed. This process is designed to eliminate invisible bacteria, viruses, and mold.

Through its Subscription Care service, LGELECTRONICS provides regular visits from professional care managers to ensure consistent product performance and hygiene. The company explains that undergoing a professional deep-cleaning service once every 2–3 years allows users to enjoy a cleaner and more hygienic washing machine.

In particular, the interior of a washing machine is difficult for users to inspect on their own. When the professional care manager disassembled the machine, I was able to see with my own eyes the accumulated grime and foreign particles in every nook and cranny. It was very satisfying to watch the process as the accumulated grime was thoroughly washed away through high-pressure cleaning and sterilization. After confirming that the drum was spotless, I immediately loaded my baby’s clothes into the washing machine right after receiving the care service.

The subscription fee for the care service varies depending on the model of washing machine purchased. If you opt for a one-time premium care service without a subscription, it costs around 200,000 won. LGELECTRONICS’ subscription revenue has been steadily growing, establishing itself as the company’s core cash cow and a high-margin business model. In the first half of this year, LGELECTRONICS’ home appliance subscription business recorded 1.3 trillion won in revenue, and annual revenue is expected to exceed 3 trillion won.
