According to the latest Boxscore released by the U.S. music publication Billboard on the 28th, BTS generated $102.5 million (141.4 billion won) in revenue in July with their “BTS WORLD TOUR ‘ARIRANG’,” securing the No. 2 spot on the “Top Tours” chart.
This achievement places them just behind global R&B artist The Weeknd, who generated $124.4 million (171.6 billion won). During the month of July, BTS held eight concerts, while The Weeknd held 16. In terms of the number of shows, BTS generated revenue on par with The Weeknd despite performing only half as many shows.
Billboard highlighted BTS’s consistently high revenue. The publication explained, “BTS is the third artist in history—after Beyoncé and Bad Bunny—to surpass $100 million in monthly revenue for multiple consecutive months.”
All of the concerts BTS held in July ranked in the top 10 for “Top Boxscore.” Their performances at the Stade de France in Paris, Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, the Allianz Arena in Munich, and the King Baudouin Stadium in Brussels ranked 3rd, 5th–7th, respectively. In Paris alone, they drew 185,000 attendees and generated $30.6 million (approximately 42.2 billion won) in ticket revenue.
According to Billboard’s analysis, as of August 11, BTS had generated $433.2 million (599.8 billion won) in revenue and sold 2.3 million tickets across 38 shows. This surpasses the group’s previous record of $213.9 million (295.2 billion won) set during their “BTS WORLD TOUR ‘LOVE YOURSELF’.” As the current tour is scheduled to continue through the first half of next year, it is expected to far exceed past achievements in every aspect, including total revenue.
BTS’s fifth studio album, “ARIRANG,” ranked No. 92 on the UK’s “Official Albums Top 100” (dated August 28–September 3), marking its 23rd consecutive week on the chart. The group is setting a new record every week for its longest-running chart run. On Spotify’s “Weekly Top Albums Global” (August 21–27), the album ranked No. 2, maintaining its position in the “Top 3” for the fifth consecutive month. The title track “SWIM” ranked 10th on the “Weekly Top Songs Global” chart, marking its 23rd consecutive week in the top 10.
BTS is currently carrying out their “Arirang” world tour, which includes a total of 88 performances across 34 cities worldwide.
