[E-Daily Reporter kyoungeun kim ] E-Nexus ( Enex(011090)), a KOSPI-listed company, plummeted more than 25% during trading on the 31st, falling close to the daily price limit.
According to MP Doctor, as of 9:19 a.m. that day, Enex was trading at 1,599 won, down 541 won (-25.28%) from the previous day. The intraday low fell to 1,533 won, approaching the daily price limit (1,500 won).

This sharp decline is believed to stem from growing uncertainty surrounding the sale of the company’s controlling stake. As of the 24th, Enex was placed on the watchlist for potential designation as a “monitored stock” due to falling below the minimum market capitalization threshold. This is because the company has failed to exceed the 30 billion won market capitalization required to maintain its KOSPI listing for 25 consecutive trading days. As of the 27th, its market capitalization stood at 27.3 billion won; if it fails to recover to 30 billion won by the 31st, it will be designated as a “monitored stock.”
Underlying this situation are funding difficulties faced by the Enex Future Growth Fund, which is pursuing the acquisition of Enex. The fund had planned to secure management control by acquiring a 28.48% stake held by existing major shareholders, including CEO Park Jin-kyu, for 11.483 billion won, and by participating in a 5 billion won third-party private placement. However, the transaction appears to be facing difficulties: the payment date for the balance was postponed from September 4 to December 30, and the payer for the capital increase changed from the initial investor, Queen Mezzanine Investment Fund No. 1, to the Enex Future Growth Fund.
Amid these developments, the acquirer announced today that it would take legal action if the stock is designated as a “monitored stock.” They plan to file a motion for a preliminary injunction against the Korea Exchange to suspend the effectiveness of the “under supervision” designation. The acquirers take issue with the fact that financial authorities moved up the effective date for applying the KOSPI delisting market capitalization threshold (50 billion won) by one year from the original plan; they argue that designating a small-cap stock—which is subject to high short-term price volatility—as a “stock under supervision” based solely on 30 days of quantitative indicators is excessive.
An official from the acquiring party stated, “We are concerned that the designation as a ‘monitored stock’ could lead to a ‘stigma effect’ and result in harm to approximately 17,000 small shareholders,” adding, “Regardless of the management takeover, we plan to focus on improving the financial structure and enhancing corporate value.”
