[Edaily Reporter Kim Hyun-ah ] LG Uplus(032640)has partnered with U.S.-based AI operations management firm Arize AI to establish a system for managing the performance and safety of artificial intelligence (AI) agents.

LG Uplus announced on the 1st that it has signed a strategic memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Arize AI to collaborate in the field of AI operations management, including evaluating the performance and quality of AI agents and analyzing errors.

As AI agents are rapidly adopted in corporate operations, it is becoming increasingly important to go beyond simply improving AI performance and instead continuously monitor and manage errors, inaccurate responses, and safety issues that arise during actual service delivery.

Through this agreement, the two companies plan to jointly advance technologies for evaluating the performance and response quality of AI agents, as well as analyzing and managing errors that occur during operation.

In particular, they will jointly explore the development of Korean and voice-based AI evaluation technologies and collaborate on safety mechanism technologies to prevent AI from generating inaccurate or inappropriate responses. They also plan to explore ways to identify joint business opportunities in the domestic business-to-business (B2B) market.

What kind of company is it?

RIIZE AI is a U.S.-based AI engineering company founded in 2020. It provides an “AI Observability” and evaluation platform that tracks the behavior of AI models and agents and evaluates and analyzes their performance. It tracks the process by which AI generates responses in actual services and helps identify the causes of errors or performance degradation so that improvements can be made.

Arise AI was co-founded by CEO Jason Lopatecki and Chief Product Officer (CPO) Aparna Dhinakaran. Major investors include Foundation Capital, Battery Ventures, TCV, and Swift Ventures.

In February 2025, the company secured a $70 million (95.683 billion won) Series C funding round led by Adams Street Partners. Microsoft’s venture fund M12, along with SineWave Ventures, OMERS Ventures, Datadog, PagerDuty, and Industry Ventures, participated in the round, bringing the company’s total funding to over $130 million (17.736 billion won).

In particular, as Agent AI evolves beyond simply generating responses to calling external tools or performing multi-step tasks, the importance of technology that tracks and evaluates what issues arise at each stage is growing. RIIZE AI supports the continuous improvement of AI systems based on these agents’ execution processes and evaluation results.

Based on this technology, the two companies plan to collaborate on building an environment that enables domestic companies to reliably adopt and operate AI agents.

Through this partnership, LG Uplus aims to strengthen its AI operations management capabilities and provide more stable and reliable AI services to its corporate customers.

The signing ceremony was held at the LG Uplus headquarters in Magok, Seoul. Attendees included Lee Sang-yeop, Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and Executive Vice President of LG Uplus; Patrick Kelly, Head of Asia-Pacific at Arise AI; and Jin Sang-yeol, Head of the Korea Branch.

Lee Sang-yeop, CTO of LG Uplus, stated, “As AI becomes an integral part of enterprises’ core business environments, reliability and operational stability—not just performance—are emerging as key competitive advantages.” He added, “Through our partnership with Arise AI, we will strengthen our AI operations management capabilities and provide AI services that customers can trust.”
