STraffic Co., Ltd., a company specializing in transportation artificial intelligence (AI), announced on the 1st that its “Next Gen Fare Gates” project, implemented for BART, has received a total of five awards from organizations such as the American Public Transportation Association (APTA) and the American Public Works Association (APWA).

STraffic Co., Ltd. installed the high-barrier fare gates for BART, which are designed to prevent fare evasion by reinforcing the physical barrier structure.

According to the company, *City Journal*, published by the Manhattan Institute, recently reported on the effects of BART’s next-generation fare collection system, noting that the crime rate across the entire network had decreased by 41%. At 10 stations where facilities were frequently vandalized, the time spent by maintenance crews was reduced by 96%.

Through this project, STraffic Co., Ltd. received the APTA’s “2026 Rail SECURE Gold Award,” the APWA’s “2026 Public Works Project Award,” and the Construction Management Association of America’s (CMAA) “2026 Project Achievement Award.”

In addition, the company received the “2026 Collaborative Project of the Year” from the International Partnership Institute (IPI) and the “2026 Innovation Legacy Award” from the East Bay Economic Development Alliance (East Bay EDA).

The company plans to use this project as a reference to expand its business in the North American public transportation modernization market.
