[Edaily Reporter NA EUN-KYUNG ] SK Plasma, a subsidiary of SK Discovery Co.,Ltd.(006120) specializing in plasma fractionation products, is expanding its dosage lineup with the launch of the 75 mg version of “Revolpak,” a treatment for thrombocytopenia.

SK Plasma announced on the 1st that it is beginning domestic distribution of “Revolpak Tablets 75 mg,” a high-dose product, following the launch of “Revolpak” 25 mg and 50 mg in August.

“Revolpak” is a treatment for thrombocytopenia containing the active ingredient eltrombopag olamine; this marks the first time a 75 mg formulation of eltrombopag olamine has been launched in South Korea. Eltropoxolamine is an active ingredient that stimulates platelet production in the bone marrow to increase platelet counts; it is used to treat conditions such as chronic immune thrombocytopenia and severe aplastic anemia.

The dosage of eltrombopag olamine is adjusted based on the patient’s platelet count and response to treatment. Previously, products available in Korea were supplied in 25 mg and 50 mg strengths, so patients requiring a 75 mg dose had to take tablets of both strengths together.

For the first-line treatment of severe aplastic anemia, the recommended dosage for adults and adolescents aged 12 to 17 is 75 mg once daily. Previously, patients had to take separate 25 mg and 50 mg tablets, but with the launch of the 75 mg product, they can now take just one tablet per day.

The financial burden of medication costs is also reduced. Based on the maximum reimbursement amount under the National Health Insurance system, the daily cost of taking both the 25 mg and 50 mg tablets together is 83,586 won. The 75 mg product costs 68,985 won, representing a cost reduction of approximately 17.5% for the same 75 mg dosage.

According to IQVIA, a pharmaceutical market research firm, the domestic eltrombopag market was valued at approximately 10.4 billion won over the most recent 12 months as of June 2026. SK Plasma operates primarily in the plasma fractionation business and is expanding its portfolio of treatments for blood disorders by supplying therapies for thrombocytopenia, following its hemophilia treatments.
