[Edaily Reporter Kim Hyung-il ] VIRNECT Co., Ltd.(438700), a physical artificial intelligence (AI) platform company, announced on the 1st that it has secured a contract from Daon I&C Technology Co., Ltd. for the “Development and Installation of Drone Adventure Content in the Drone Experience Center”—a project under Taean County’s small-scale smart city development initiative—and has begun construction. The contract amount is 549.45 million won, and the project period runs from the date of contract signing through December 31 of this year.

This project involves setting up experiential content, related equipment, and an integrated operation system within a 66.13-square-meter drone experience center located at the Taean County Adventure TWS Station. VIRNECT Co., Ltd. plans to utilize actual flight and motion data collected from Taean County’s outdoor multimedia drone shows to replicate drone movements in a virtual environment.

Four types of content will be developed: VR drone FPV racing, a drone show experience using actual drone show data, a 4K 360-degree video experience featuring Taean’s tourist attractions, and an AR drone show experience. The project also includes features that allow citizens to create their own drone shows and experience the flight and control processes of swarm drones in a virtual environment.

In particular, the virtual simulation of swarm drone flight control will recreate scenarios where multiple drones fly in a virtual space, allowing users to directly experience flight paths and control processes.

Through this project, VIRNECT Co., Ltd. plans to gain technical expertise in translating data generated by real drones and in the physical world into a digital environment. The company’s strategy is to expand its business scope into the fields of spatial intelligence and physical AI by linking actual flight and motion data with smart city spatial information and reproducing and simulating this data in a virtual environment.
