'Odyssey' Remains the Box Office Leader for the Fifth Consecutive Week… Cumulative Attendance Reaches 9.12 Million

[Edaily Starin, Reporter Choi Hee-jae ] The movie "The Odyssey" has remained at the top of the box office for its fifth week since release and is now counting down to the 10-million-viewer milestone.

According to the Korean Film Council’s integrated computer network on the 2nd, “The Odyssey” took the No. 1 spot at the box office on the 1st, drawing 113,419 viewers. Its cumulative audience stands at 9,124,237, leaving it about 880,000 viewers short of the 10 million mark.
Second place went to “Spider-Man: A Brand New Day” (Spider-Man 4). “Spider-Man 4” drew 22,865 viewers that day, bringing its cumulative total to 8,599,914.
Third place went to the Korean film *Gyeongju Journey*, which drew 15,264 viewers. Since its release on the 26th of last month, it has consistently ranked first among Korean films. Its cumulative attendance stands at 225,749.
“The Last Day on Oak Street” took fourth place, and “Insidious: They’ve Come Over” took fifth.
“The Odyssey” also remains dominant in real-time ticket sales. As of 8:00 a.m. on the 2nd, “The Odyssey” had sold 313,706 tickets. Second place went to “The Assassin(s),” set to open on the 23rd, with 42,717 tickets sold. Third place went to *The Intern*, set to open on the 16th, with 39,703 tickets sold. Fourth place went to *Spider-Man 4* (30,906 tickets), and fifth place went to *The Secret of the Sword*, which opens today (27,839 tickets).
