[E-Daily Starin KIM HYUNSIK Reporter] Lee Jang-won of the band Peppertones has lost his grandfather.

On the 2nd, Lee Jang-won posted on his social media account, stating, “My grandfather, with whom I had been living, passed away recently, and we held a quiet, private family funeral.”
He added, “I lived with my grandfather for a few years early in my career, and he used to prepare breakfast for me every morning,” and said, “I moved in with Bae Da-hae with the intention of repaying that kindness, but it was much shorter than I expected, which is a shame.”
Lee Jang-won married singer and musical actress Bae Da-hae in November 2021. The couple had previously shared their daily life living with the late grandfather on the SBS variety show *Same Bed, Different Dreams 2: You Are My Destiny*.
The production team of “Same Bed, Different Dreams 2” announced the news of Lee Jang-won’s grandfather’s passing at the end of the previous day’s broadcast with a caption reading, “Grandfather Lee Hyun-seop has passed away.” Born in Anju, South Pyongan Province, in 1926, Mr. Lee Hyun-seop was a graduate of the 9th class of the Korea Military Academy and a decorated veteran who served in the Korean War. He passed away at the age of 100.
Lee Jang-won added in the post, “I am so grateful that he was able to create so many wonderful memories thanks to ‘Same Bed, Different Dreams.’”
