[Edaily Reporter Lee So-Hyun ] Naver (NAVER(035420)) is expanding the digital content benefits of its Naver Plus membership to include the education sector. By partnering with EBS to add an eBook subscription service, the company is providing learning content accessible to students from elementary through high school, thereby increasing the membership’s appeal for families.

Naver announced on the 3rd that it has introduced “EBS eBook,” operated by EBS, as a paid, optional digital content option within the Naver Plus Membership.

EBS eBook is a subscription service that provides EBS educational content in e-book format. Naver Plus Membership users can add the “EBS eBook Elementary, Middle, and High School All-Access Pass” to their subscription for a membership-exclusive price of 9,900 won per month.

Previously, approximately 230 titles for elementary and middle school were offered for 12,900 won per month, and approximately 340 titles for middle and high school were offered for 15,900 won per month. However, Naver and EBS have combined these into a single package, allowing users to access approximately 500 e-books. This includes children’s stories, language learning materials, and college entrance exam prep materials, as well as related online lectures and question banks.

Currently, the Naver Plus Membership offers digital content benefits for 4,900 won per month (3,900 won per month for an annual subscription), allowing users to choose one service from Netflix, Spotify, PC Game Pass, or Naver Webtoon and Series. In addition to these, the service has offered Spotify and Webtoon/Series “Cookies” as paid add-ons, and EBS eBooks have now been added to the lineup.

The service has also been made more family-friendly. The primary membership account holder can purchase EBS eBooks and register them under their own or their children’s EBS accounts, making it possible for parents to use Netflix while their children study with EBS eBooks.

Jeong Han-na, Head of Naver Membership, stated, “We have expanded our partnership with EBS to include educational content so that Naver Plus Membership users can enjoy an even wider variety of content benefits tailored to their interests, family structure, and life stages.” She added, “We will continue to collaborate with various partners to steadily expand lifestyle-oriented benefits that span both online and offline.”
