“Ji Sang-ryeol’s Gills” is an interactive talk show where comedians Ji Sang-ryeol and Kim Seung-jin meet with the audience in person to share stories. They listen to the audience’s concerns and personal stories on the spot, engage in impromptu conversations, and produce YouTube Original content based on the stories shared during the performances.
The show is also gaining traction online. Cumulative views on YouTube and Instagram have surpassed 7.3 million. After kicking off its first performance in Bupyeong-gu, Incheon, last June, the show continued with performances in Insadong, Seoul, in July and August.
As the series has progressed, interaction with the audience has become a key element of the content. According to the company, rather than following a set script, the show generates natural laughter and conversation by responding on the spot to audience stories and reactions.
Building on the on-site experience gained in the Seoul metropolitan area, LG HelloVision will expand its performance locations to Busan, Daegu, and other cities starting in October. The plan is to connect LG HelloVision’s regional business operations with its digital content by increasing offline touchpoints where the company can meet local residents directly.
The company is also broadening its content formats. In addition to regular talk shows, it has launched a spin-off titled “Ji Sang-ryeol’s Agami Dating,” which explores the dating lives and relationships of the 20s and 30s generation. This is an effort to expand its proprietary intellectual property (IP) by combining online content with in-person performances and participatory programs.
Nam Sang-ho, the producer of “Ji Sang-ryeol’s Agami,” said, “The unpolished laughter created together with the audience on a small stage is the content’s greatest appeal,” adding, “We will visit audiences nationwide, including in Busan and Daegu, to continue delivering even more friendly and cheerful live talk shows.”
Meanwhile, highlights from the “Ji Sang-ryeol’s Agami” performances and full episodes are available on the official YouTube channel, “Ji Sang-ryeol’s Agami.”
