SamsungElectronics increased its market share by 12 percentage points, from 21% in the first quarter to 33% in the second quarter.
Counterpoint Research predicted that Samsung’s market share would gradually increase further as it ramps up HBM4 shipments.
Micron ranked third, capturing an 18% market share. This represents a slight decline from the previous quarter’s 21%.
Counterpoint Research projected, “Currently, the majority of HBM revenue comes from the fifth-generation product, HBM3E, and shipments of the sixth-generation HBM4 are expected to gain significant traction starting in the second half of this year.”
