[Edaily Reporter Shin Ha-yeon ] Smart Radar System, Inc.(424960), a company specializing in 4D imaging radar, has partnered with Dongin Optics, a company specializing in defense optical equipment, to develop an integrated counter-drone solution that covers everything from drone detection to identification.

Smart Radar System, Inc. announced on the 4th that it has signed a strategic memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Dongin Optics to collaborate in the counter-drone sector.

Under this agreement, the two companies will jointly develop an integrated counter-drone solution that combines Smart Radar System, Inc.’s drone detection radar technology with Dongin Optics’ target identification optical technology. Key areas of cooperation include: △ joint development of radar-optics converged counter-drone solutions; △ identification of joint business opportunities in the defense, public, and private sectors; and △ joint marketing and exhibition cooperation both domestically and internationally.

Radar detects the location and movement of drones over a wide area, while optical equipment verifies and identifies detected targets through imagery. The two companies plan to combine these technologies to provide drone detection and identification capabilities in a single solution.

Smart Radar System, Inc. is expanding its business scope from the existing mobility sector into the drone detection market based on its compact and lightweight radar technology. Dongin Optics is a company that has been developing and manufacturing defense optical equipment, such as military sights.

Through this collaboration, Smart Radar System, Inc. intends to expand its product lineup from standalone radar units to integrated solutions that combine radar with optical equipment, and to identify business opportunities in both the public and private sectors—including defense, airports, and industrial facilities. The two companies plan to form a working group to define specific collaboration projects and jointly participate in individual business ventures.
