DYC announced on the 7th that its subsidiary, DYC Dynamics, has formed a task force (TF) to identify new business opportunities in MiraeCorporation industries.
This task force was established to expand the scope of application for the precision component machining and production technologies that DYC Dynamics has accumulated in the defense sector, such as guided missiles. The plan is to expand the existing defense product lineup while broadening the business portfolio into advanced civilian sectors—such as drones, robotics, and aerospace—that require high precision and consistent quality.
In particular, the company plans to operate the TF not merely by reviewing the potential of future businesses, but by focusing on projects currently under discussion with actual clients. It will systematically evaluate the feasibility of applying technology to each project, along with product development directions, production processes, and mass-production potential, and proceed with follow-up development centered on items with high commercialization potential.
In future high-tech industries, the importance of high-precision machining technology is growing as components become smaller and structural complexity increases. The company explains that, since the early stages of product development require rapid response to high-mix, low-volume production and high machining precision, the scope for leveraging DYC Dynamics’ production and development expertise—gained in the defense sector—is expanding.
With recent increases in inquiries regarding the development and production of new precision-machined components from Chonbang industries, DYC and DYC Dynamics are coordinating their response by integrating both companies’ production technologies and sales networks. DYC had previously announced a strategy to pursue horizontal and vertical business expansion in the precision components sector following its acquisition of DYC Dynamics.
The company expects that if the new business opportunities identified by this task force lead to development and mass production, they will contribute to the group’s medium- to long-term earnings growth and the diversification of its business portfolio.
A DYC official stated, “This task force is not merely an organization for reviewing future businesses; it was formed to respond more quickly to business opportunities arising in the actual market,” adding, “Based on our precision machining technology, we will continuously identify items that can be commercialized not only in new defense products but also in future industries such as drones, robotics, and aerospace.”
The official continued, “Depending on the progress of the business and whether projects are expanded, we are also considering reorganizing project-specific initiatives into permanent organizational units,” and added, “By combining the technological and sales capabilities of the parent company and its subsidiaries, we will secure new growth engines and continue to expand our business and enhance corporate value.”
