Noul Co., Ltd. announced on the 7th that its AI-based malaria diagnostic solution, “miLab MAL,” won a public procurement bid from Benin’s Ministry of Health and has been incorporated as the official diagnostic platform for Benin’s National Malaria Control Program (PNLP). This procurement targets major referral hospitals with a high burden of severe malaria cases. Noul Co., Ltd. plans to supply an initial batch of 20 units and expand the scope of application to the entire public healthcare sector in Benin in the future. The PNLP (Programme National de Lutte contre le Paludisme) is a program that oversees malaria prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and other response activities at the national level. With this contract win, Noul Co., Ltd.’s AI diagnostic solution will be applied not only to individual medical institutions but also to Benin’s national malaria response system. This adoption was based on a local clinical performance evaluation conducted last year under the leadership of the Beninese government. According to the company, in a clinical study conducted in 2025 at major university hospitals in northern and southern Benin involving 211 children suspected of having severe malaria, MyLab Malaria recorded a sensitivity of 98.82% and a specificity of 100% compared to manual microscopy. It also reduced diagnostic time. While conventional manual microscopy took an average of 75 minutes, MyLab was able to provide a diagnosis within 20 minutes. The company explained that in the final report based on this study, Benin’s PNLP defined MyLab as a point-of-care (POC) device and recommended its adoption in malaria control programs across African countries. MyLab Malaria is a solution that automates the entire malaria diagnostic process, from blood smears to digital imaging and AI analysis. It is designed to support rapid and standardized diagnosis even in environments with limited medical infrastructure and specialized personnel. Based on this public procurement contract in Benin, Noul Co., Ltd. plans to expand its supply, focusing on the public health markets of African countries with a high burden of malaria.
