[Edaily Reporter Park Jung-Soo ] NANOBRICK Co., Ltd.(286750)is set to enter the East African authenticity certification market by supplying authenticity certification marks to Tanzania.
NanoSilikhan Advanced Materials announced on the 7th that it has signed a contract to supply an initial batch of approximately 10 million authenticity certification marks to Tanzania.
This contract was finalized following a demonstration of the company’s authenticity verification technology, “MTX (Magnetically Color Changeable Photonic Crystal),” at the “Tanzania Anti-Counterfeit and Investment Protection Forum” held in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, on the 2nd.
Approximately 200 people attended the event, including representatives from the Tanzania Fair Trade Commission (FCC), government agencies involved in investment, and local manufacturing and distribution industry stakeholders.
MTX is an authentication technology that utilizes nanomaterials to impart unique security characteristics to products. It features the “TAP & CHECK in 1 Second” method, which allows users to verify authenticity in about one second with a single scan using a smartphone or similar device.
The company explained that MTX makes replication difficult, thereby overcoming the limitations of existing anti-counterfeiting measures such as holograms, QR codes, and barcodes.
The Tanzanian FCC is reviewing the feasibility of implementing an MTX-based authenticity verification system across various sectors—including government-issued documents, as well as alcohol, tobacco, pharmaceuticals, and tickets—to eradicate counterfeits and protect consumers.
NanoSilican plans to use this initial supply as an opportunity to expand the application of MTX in Tanzania and accelerate its entry into the East African market.
An official from NanoSilikhan Advanced Materials stated, “Building on this initial supply, we plan to expand the application of MTX in Tanzania to include not only consumer goods such as alcoholic beverages and tobacco but also pharmaceuticals, industrial products, and the logistics and distribution sectors,” adding, “We will use Tanzania as a strategic hub to gradually expand our business scope to major African countries, including member states of the East African Community (EAC).”
