[Edaily Reporter Park Jung-Soo ] Big In Square, a production subsidiary of GIANTSTEP Inc.(289220), has returned to profitability, driven by an increase in Japanese advertising contracts and growth in its content business. GIANTSTEP Inc., a company specializing in AI and real-time content, announced on the 7th that Big In Square has successfully returned to profitability based on its success in securing commercial advertising projects in Japan and the performance of new business ventures such as movies and TV dramas. Big In Square has recently expanded its revenue by securing a series of large-scale commercial advertising projects in Japan. The company explained that it has established a stable revenue base by expanding its business with local advertisers through its high-quality video production and ability to meet deadlines. The company is also achieving success in its original content business. “Personal Taxi,” a video series produced in-house by Big In Square, was selected for the Korea Creative Content Agency’s “2025 OTT-Specialized Content Production Support” program. It is scheduled to air on Netflix in Korea and on FOD, the video platform of Japan’s Fuji TV—which participated in the investment—and discussions are underway to export distribution rights to other countries. “Personal Taxi” was also screened as a drama at the Jecheon International Music & Film Festival. Big In Square is currently producing its next project, the film “Gangshi: Workshop of Horror,” with the goal of releasing it next year. In this process, the company is utilizing the Namsan XR Studio—operated under contract by GIANTSTEP Inc.—to enhance production efficiency. GIANTSTEP Inc. expects Big In Square’s return to profitability to contribute to an improvement in consolidated earnings. The parent company is also taking steps to expand its overseas project portfolio and improve cost efficiency in response to the sluggish domestic VFX and video production market. Through its U.S. subsidiary, the company has secured a contract for an immersive content project related to “The Sphere,” a landmark in Las Vegas. In addition, Giant Step is integrating its proprietary AI solution, “TabTo,” into its production pipeline to streamline workflows and reduce costs. GIANTSTEP Inc. official stated, “BigInSquare’s shift to profitability, driven by its global expansion and new business achievements, will serve as a driving force for improved consolidated earnings,” adding, “Headquarters is also pursuing a turnaround in performance by expanding the acquisition of global projects, such as the Sphere in the U.S., and reducing costs through the use of its proprietary AI tool, TabTo.”
