Capturing the Excitement of Everyday Life Instead of a Glitzy Stage
Music Video Released Ahead of New Album Debut on the 8th
[Edaily Starin YUN GI BACK Reporter] Singer Lim Young-woong has poured his most personal affection into a new song, behind the glitz and glamour of his stadium performances. The song, titled “Tto Tto,” is inspired by his dog, Siwol. By unveiling the music video a day before the digital release, he successfully generated buzz for the new album. “Totto” is a song for which Lim Young-woong personally wrote both the lyrics and the music. He infused his affection for his dog Siwol into the lovely melody and lyrics. Lim Young-woong had previously introduced the song, saying, “Siwol’s name is included in the lyrics, and they’re full of cute lines.” The music video also centers on Siwol as the song’s inspiration. The video begins with scenes featuring Siwol and child actor Kim Jun. Kim Jun appears as an anthropomorphized version of Siwol, accompanying Lim Young-woong as they move through everyday spaces such as their home and the airport. By focusing on Lim Young-woong’s ordinary daily life rather than his glamorous stage presence, the video captures the song’s unique warm and upbeat atmosphere. In particular, this new song aligns with Lim Young-woong’s recent activities as he marks his 10th anniversary since debut. While he has demonstrated his mainstream presence through massive stadium concerts, this new song brings personal stories—such as his daily life with his dog—to the forefront. Although his scale has grown, within his music, he has actually brought his daily life and emotions closer to the audience. This also ties into the musical evolution Lim Young-woong has been demonstrating recently. Having already won the hearts of a wide range of generations with emotional tracks like “Love Always Runs Away” and “Grains of Sand,” he has been more actively incorporating his own stories into his music by participating directly in the creative process for his new album. “Toto” is also a song that more clearly reveals his unique style, as it stems from a being he truly cherishes rather than being a simple love song. A large-scale concert held just before the release of the new album also heated up the atmosphere. From the 4th to the 6th, Lim Young-woong held his 2026 concert “IM HERO – THE STADIUM 2” at the Main Stadium of the Goyang Sports Complex, drawing approximately 95,000 spectators over three days. During the concert, he performed tracks from his new album, including “Tto Tto,” for the first time. Including this concert, the cumulative audience for Lim Young-woong’s concerts to date has reached approximately 1 million. Since launching his full-scale nationwide tour in 2022, he has expanded the scale of his performances from gymnasiums to domes and now stadiums; on the 10th anniversary of his debut, he is broadening the scope of his activities by simultaneously unveiling new songs and hosting a large-scale concert. “I’m Hero 10” features a total of 10 tracks, including the title track “Tto Tto.” The album will be released at 6:00 p.m. on the 8th via various music streaming sites.
