LG HelloVision announced on the 8th that its original human-interest documentary *The Women Who Stand Out* won the “Gender Equality Culture Content of the Year” award at the “2026 Gender Equality Culture Awards.”
The Gender Equality Culture Awards are sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and organized by the Women’s Culture Network (a non-profit organization) and Women’s News Co., Ltd. The awards recognize individuals, organizations, and content that have contributed to the spread of a culture of gender equality through creative work and activities in various fields, including culture, arts, sports, and tourism. *The Women Who Stand Out* was highly recognized for broadening social empathy by authentically capturing the challenges and lives of professional women who are breaking down prejudices and carving out their own niches in various corners of our society.
“Remarkable Women” is LG HelloVision’s flagship program that has shed light on the vibrant daily lives of women who are proactively carving out their own paths without being constrained by limitations such as gender, age, or region. Since its premiere in 2022, the show has aired a total of nine seasons over five years, establishing itself as a leading documentary series on local television.
In particular, the show resonated deeply with viewers by featuring 109 female professionals working with confidence and dedication across a wide range of fields—including traditionally male-dominated occupations such as subway train operators, ship welders, scrap yard owners, and delivery drivers.
The episode of “Eye-Catching Women Season 6” featuring urban rail operator Park Seong-eun garnered widespread love for its authentic portrayal, surpassing 10 million total views.
Its performance on digital platforms was also remarkable. On LG HelloVision’s official YouTube channel, “Hello Life,” “The Women Who Stand Out” recorded a single-video record of 12.58 million views, and the cumulative views across all seasons surpassed 125.9 million, proving its influence beyond the platform.
Ryu Bok-yeol, Executive Producer at LG HelloVision, stated, “We received this meaningful award thanks to the 109 protagonists who have quietly walked their own paths over the past five years and the viewers who responded so enthusiastically to their stories.” He added, “We will continue to wholeheartedly support women in their 20s and 40s who are striving hard in every corner of our society, and we will consistently contribute to expanding gender-equitable perceptions of careers and fostering warm social empathy through their voices.”
Meanwhile, LG HelloVision produces web variety shows such as “Fiery Junior” and “Ji Sang-ryeol’s Gills.” In addition, programs linked to local channels—such as “Taegun Singing Contest 4” and “Danggoljip 2”—are also available on YouTube and other digital platforms.
