In partnership with KakaoBank Corp., kakaopay Securities launched the “Stock Home” section in the KakaoBank Corp. app’s “Invest” tab on the 4th and began offering trading services. As a result, users can now trade domestic and international stocks, as well as exchange-traded funds (ETFs), directly within the KakaoBank Corp. app.
Users can now perform everything from checking stock information to placing buy and sell orders all in one place within the KakaoBank Corp. app. Tradable instruments include domestic and foreign stocks, as well as ETFs and exchange-traded notes (ETNs)—the same products previously available in the “Securities” tab of the kakaopay app.
The app also offers features for reviewing investment information. Users can analyze stocks through charts, quotes, and watchlists, and exchange opinions with other investors in the community. A “Stock Savings” feature, which automatically purchases selected stocks at regular intervals, is also available.
The interface is tailored to users’ investment experience. A customized home screen is provided for each investment stage, with different layouts for beginners and experienced investors.
Users can also manage their accounts and funds through the KakaoBank Corp. app. By linking a kakaopay Securities account in their own name to their KakaoBank Corp. account, users can access the stock services. If users do not have a securities account, they can open both a bank account and a securities account sequentially within the KakaoBank Corp. app. Depositing funds needed to purchase stocks and withdrawing proceeds from sales can also be processed through the KakaoBank Corp. account.
Kakaopay Securities plans to gradually enhance its services and expand integration among Kakao’s financial services. It also plans to hold events such as “26-Week ETF Savings” and “Random Stock Draw” to broaden user engagement.
Shin Ho-cheol, CEO of kakaopay Securities, stated, “kakaopay Securities’ vision is for investing to begin naturally where people’s financial lives unfold.” He added, “Within a seamless flow that connects payments, money transfers, savings, and investing, we will support more users in easily understanding investment information and creating investment experiences that align with their goals and risk tolerance.”
