[Edaily Starin Reporter Gim Ga Yeong ] TV personality Lee Soo-ji, who was embroiled in a controversy over her political leanings amid allegations that she trivialized protests related to a special election, is taking legal action against online trolls.

On the 8th, Lee Soo-ji’s agency, CPN Entertainment, stated, “We have confirmed that posts and comments containing malicious slander, insults, personal attacks, the spreading of false information, and defamation directed at Lee Soo-ji have been continuously posted and disseminated on online communities and social media platforms,” adding “As this is a serious matter that infringes upon the artist’s reputation and rights, we are closely investigating all related matters and responding thoroughly.”
They continued, “We plan to take all necessary legal actions, including civil and criminal measures in collaboration with our legal counsel, against anyone who creates, disseminates, or spreads malicious posts or comments,” and added, “Furthermore, we would like to inform you that we will respond strictly under a zero-tolerance policy—without leniency or settlement—to protect our artist. We will continue to do our utmost to protect the rights and interests of our artists.”
Previously, Lee Soo-ji released a mock documentary titled “Civil Servant Kim Ji-young Defends Her Iron Rice Bowl” on the YouTube channel “Hot Issue Ji.” In the video, Lee Soo-ji appeared as Kim Ji-young, a first-year civil servant, and portrayed her struggling with malicious complaints. However, she faced criticism and became embroiled in controversy for portraying protesters demanding a re-election following the ballot paper shortage during the nationwide local elections as “malicious complainants” and trivializing the issue. Although the production team deleted the scene in question, the controversy did not subside; as it continued to escalate, Lee Soo-ji issued a personal apology.
After suspending her YouTube activities, Lee Soo-ji recently resumed posting new content for the first time in about a month.
