[Edaily Starin YUN GI BACK Reporter] A heated debate is underway regarding singer Sung Si-kyung’s first picnic-style outdoor concert. While complaints about on-site operations—such as a lack of food trucks and shade—continue, there are also many who positively evaluate the quality of the performance itself and Sung Si-kyung’s on-stage presence.

Sung Si-kyung held “2026 Sung Si-kyung With Friends [Well, Today]” on the 5th and 6th at the 88 Lawn Plaza in Seoul Olympic Park. Launched in 2022, “Well, Today” is a concert series where Sung Si-kyung shares the stage with artists he has collaborated with musically; this year, it expanded beyond an indoor venue for the first time to become a picnic-style outdoor concert. The venue featured F&B stands, photo zones, and event spaces, with performers including Yang Hee-eun, Lee Jae-hoon, Won Mi-yeon, Kim Kwang-jin, Gummy, Kwon Jin-ah, Kim Jang-hoon, and LISA taking the stage.
After the concert, some audience members expressed disappointment, citing a lack of amenities such as food and beverage facilities, shade, and waiting areas. On the other hand, there were also reactions such as, “The performance itself was excellent,” and “Since this was the first outdoor attempt, operational issues can be addressed and improved.”

Some audience members who attended the concert noted, “Since it’s an outdoor picnic-style event, it’s hard to expect the same level of convenience as an indoor concert.” They explained that factors such as the weather, waiting times, and movement are inevitable aspects of outdoor performances. However, there were also pointed out that areas the organizers could have prepared for in advance—such as shade, rest areas, and food and beverage services—need to be improved in the future.
In particular, Sung Si-kyung’s on-the-spot response received high praise. Concerned that audience members who arrived early might grow weary from the long wait, he took the stage before the scheduled start time to perform three of his own songs and even presented a duet with Kim Kwang-jin. Kim Jang-hoon also joined the surprise performance. One audience member said, “He came out early to sing because he was worried we’d have a hard time waiting, which made the wait less boring.”

During the main performance, Sung Si-kyung lived up to the concert’s “with friends” theme by performing duets with every artist on stage and participating in the backing vocals and choreography. At the end of the show, the entire cast sang “Two People” together, and in response to an encore request, they returned to the stage to perform “The Way to Me” and bid a final farewell to the audience.
This concert left a mixed impression, highlighting both operational shortcomings and the potential of this new concert format. While the lack of amenities and poor crowd flow—essential for an outdoor concert—were pointed out as areas for improvement, the show has also received positive reviews for how Sung Si-kyung personally filled the audience’s waiting time with music and delivered a performance that bridged generations and genres. If operational excellence is further refined in the future, the picnic-style expansion of “Well, Today” appears to have ample potential to establish itself as a new concert brand.
