The company plans to acquire a total of 1,212,121 shares through direct purchases on the open market. The estimated acquisition cost is approximately 1 billion won, based on the closing price on the day prior to the board resolution, and the acquisition period is from September 10 to December 9.
The company explained that this decision was driven by the stable performance of its existing ceramic materials business, as well as the improving earnings trend resulting from the expansion of its rechargeable battery additive business.
In fact, CENOTEC Co., Ltd recorded consolidated revenue of 23.3 billion won in the first half of this year, a 40.7% increase compared to the same period last year. During the same period, operating profit surged 89.3% to 2.1 billion won, and the company successfully returned to profitability with a net income of 1.5 billion won.
While solidifying its global market share for its flagship product, ceramic beads, CENOTEC Co., Ltd. is actively fostering additives for rechargeable battery cathode materials as a new growth engine. The company signed a supply contract worth approximately 4.6 billion won for these additives in the first half of this year and is currently fulfilling the orders.
Building on these supply achievements, the company is continuing detailed discussions with major clients regarding additional supplies for the second half of the year and medium- to long-term volumes for next year. The company expects these discussions to stabilize mass production of the new business and drive sales growth. However, the final contract size and timing will be determined based on the outcome of these discussions.
Previously, in August, CENOTEC Co., Ltd.’s key executives demonstrated their commitment to responsible management by directly purchasing the company’s shares. At that time, key executives—including CEO Lee Ju-sung, Senior Managing Director Moon Tae-kyung, and Director Jeong Geun-han—purchased a total of 92,805 shares on the open market.
Lee Ju-sung, CEO of CENOTEC Co., Ltd., emphasized, “This share repurchase reflects the management’s strong commitment to strengthening shareholder returns and enhancing shareholder value,” adding, “We will continue to enhance the global competitiveness of our ceramic bead business and expand our secondary battery additive business—a new growth engine—to maximize corporate value.”
