According to her agency, Idam Entertainment, on the 10th, IU will release her new digital single “From This Star” at 6 p.m. today. The single features “From This Star” and “Dear My Crazy Soulmate” as double title tracks, both of which were written by IU herself.
This release is particularly significant as it marks her first new music in about a year since “Bye, Summer,” released last September, and serves as a preview of her upcoming sixth studio album. It goes beyond a one-off single to offer the first glimpse into the musical direction and narrative of her next studio album.
The music video for “Dear My Crazy Soulmate” will also be released on the day of the single’s release. In the teaser released at midnight that same day, IU and actress Shim Dal-gi appear as police officers, while actress Kim Young-ok makes a surprise appearance, creating a strong narrative atmosphere even within the brief clip.
