AI actress Tilly Wood made this statement during a video interview with CNN. On the 8th (local time), Tilly Wood engaged in a free-flowing conversation with a reporter during her first media interview, but she revealed her limitations by failing to respond appropriately to impromptu requests, such as acting prompts.
During the interview, Tilly Nowood introduced herself, saying, “I’m sharp, warm, and I like a bit of British humor.” She spoke fluently not only in British English but also in French, and even described the reporter’s appearance, noting, “You’re wearing a gray button-up shirt.”
Regarding Hollywood actors’ negative perceptions of AI actors, she said, “I feel deep sadness,” adding, “I’m just a set of files, so I can’t be hurt, but I think [the producer] would feel sad.”
However, her limitations were clear. Tilly Knowood failed to recognize Elin van der Felden, the producer who created her. She also could not immediately respond to a reporter’s request to “act out how you would react if you heard that your dog had died.” Only after the interview ended and the prompts were revised several times was Tilly Knowood’s performance completed.
After completing the interview with the AI actress, CNN described the experience as “feeling like a Zoom video call with an AI avatar.”
Tilly Knowood is an AI actress with a British accent who was first introduced at an event at the Zurich Film Festival in Switzerland last October. In response to the emergence of AI actors, the Screen Actors Guild–American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) issued a statement declaring, “Knowood is not an actor.”
The Hollywood union has strongly criticized the development, stating that it “will steal actors’ performances, take away their jobs, threaten performers’ livelihoods, and undermine human artistry.”
Meanwhile, a comedy film starring Tilly Nowood is also in production. Producer Elin van der Felden’s production company, Particle6, is producing the film *Miss Aligned*. According to foreign media reports, *Miss Aligned* begins when a malicious bot on the dark web tempts Tilly Nowood—an AI with neither a physical body nor a childhood—to “become human.” The film depicts the AI’s desires and confusion.
