According to the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (ATAS), which organizes the Emmy Awards, on the 9th (local time), Linda Cardellini, who starred in the HBO series “DTF St. Louis,” won the Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited Series, Anthology Series, or Movie award during the second day of the 78th Emmy Awards ceremony held on the 6th.
Yoon Yeo-jeong was nominated in the same category for *Angry People 2* but did not win. In the series, Yoon played the role of Chairman Park, a Korean billionaire who recently acquired a country club. She starred alongside Song Kang-ho, who played Dr. Kim in *Angry People 2*, as his on-screen husband.
The Emmy Awards are considered the most prestigious broadcasting awards in the United States. There had been significant interest in whether Yoon Yeo-jeong—who in 2021 became the first Korean actress to win the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for the film *Minari*—would also take home an Emmy trophy, but unfortunately, she did not win.

In “Angry People 2,” a young couple at an exclusive country club witnesses a shocking argument between the general manager and his wife. The story then unfolds as a fierce battle of wits and blackmail disguised as favors ensues among the young couple, the general manager and his wife, and the club’s owner. Korean-American director Lee Sung-jin returned to produce and direct the series following Season 1.
Season 2 has been nominated in a total of 16 categories, including Outstanding Mini-Series or Anthology Series, as well as Best Actress, Best Actor, and Best Supporting Actor. To date, it has won three awards—Outstanding Sound, Outstanding Sound Editing, and Outstanding Costume Design—recognizing its artistic merit.
Season 1, which premiered in 2023, swept eight categories at the Emmys, including Outstanding Limited Series, Outstanding Directing, Outstanding Writing, Outstanding Lead Actor (Steven Yeun), and Outstanding Lead Actress (Allie Wong). It also proved its artistic merit and popularity by winning awards at major international ceremonies such as the Golden Globes and the Critics’ Choice Awards.
This year’s Emmy Awards ceremony will take place over three days—the 5th, 6th, and 14th. The ceremonies on the 5th and 6th will be pre-recorded, while the final ceremony is scheduled to air on NBC at 5:00 p.m. (Pacific Time) on the 14th.
