According to the Korean Film Council’s integrated computer network on the 11th, “The Martian” took the No. 1 spot at the box office on the 10th, drawing 64,835 viewers. Its cumulative audience count stands at 10,333,247.
In second place was “Obsession,” which drew 27,617 viewers, bringing its cumulative total to 298,339. Third place went to “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” (Spider-Man 4), which drew 12,882 viewers, bringing its cumulative total to 8,845,696. “The Drama” took fourth place, and “Hope” took fifth.
“The Odyssey” is expected to continue its run at the top of the box office this weekend. As of 8:12 a.m. on the 11th, advance ticket sales for “The Odyssey” stood at 257,757 tickets, placing it in the overwhelming lead ahead of upcoming releases.
In second place is “Assassin(s),” starring Yoo Hae-jin, Park Hae-il, and Lee Min-ho, which opens on the 23rd, with 56,094 tickets sold; in third place is “The Intern,” starring Choi Min-sik and Han So-hee, which opens on the 16th, with 53,507 tickets sold.
