On the 11th, actress Sami-ja posted a video titled “My 63-Year-Old Friend Jeon Won-ju Is Still Doing Fine” on her YouTube channel, “Sami-ja, Not Omija.”
In the video, Sami Ja met with her longtime friend and entertainment industry colleague Jeon Won-ju to catch up on each other’s lives.
Sami-ja asked Jeon Won-ju, “I heard you’re taking a break from YouTube for a while. It was fun—why are you taking a break?” In response, Jeon Won-ju said, “It seems people watch a lot of YouTube. I didn’t really watch it much,” but added, “I’ll start again.”
Jeon Won-ju explained the reason for her hiatus, saying, “I tried to negotiate a raise [in my appearance fee], but the production team said they’d stop the show, so I just went along with it.”
Although she had intended to quit YouTube, she said, “I shouldn’t be too focused on the money. I’ll just go with the flow.” Jeon Won-ju also drew attention by singing Tae Jin-ah’s “Companion,” saying, “Let’s be companions who hold hands and walk together during tough and difficult times.”

Previously, Jeon Won-ju had gained popularity by running the YouTube channel “Jeon Won-ju_Jeon Won-ju Protagonist,” which had about 120,000 subscribers, but the channel was suspended after the entire production team stepped down.
In an announcement, the production team stated, “The team that has produced and managed the channel from its inception until now will no longer be producing the ‘Jeon Won-ju Protagonist’ channel,” adding, “Thanks to our subscribers and Ms. Jeon Won-ju, all of us on the production team have had a joyful and happy year.”
Although concerns arose that this might be due to health issues, Jeon Won-ju’s agency has clarified that “it has nothing to do with her health.”
