Premiering on the 12th, KBS2’s new Saturday-Sunday miniseries “A Love Other Than You” is a realistic romantic drama that resonates with viewers, depicting a couple in their 10th year of dating as they confront unfamiliar emotions.
Seo Kang-jun and Ahn Eun-jin play “Namgung Ho” and “Lee Mi-do,” respectively—lovers who have stood by each other for a long time—depicting the story of a couple in their 10th year of dating who, having passed the time when love alone was enough, now face the practical concerns of marriage and the future.
The photos released today capture Namgung Ho (played by Seo Kang-joon) and Lee Mi-do’s (played by Ahn Eun-jin) decade together, as well as the unusual changes that have begun to unfold between them. Their expressions, which stand in stark contrast to the happy memories of the past ten years, heighten curiosity about what has happened to them.
While Namgung Ho continues his stable career as an assistant manager at the major corporation Hunmin Confectionery, film director Lee Mi-do is struggling with an unstable reality as the projects she’s been preparing repeatedly fall through. On top of this, as they enter their mid-30s, the couple is now faced with concerns about marriage and the future—issues they can no longer vaguely put off.
In the preview footage released in advance, Lee Mi-do’s mother, Ma Suk-hee (played by Kim Mi-kyung), brings up the topic of marriage—a sign that the pressure from those around them cannot be ignored. As a result, all eyes are on the choices these two will face: though they have loved each other for the same amount of time, they have somehow come to navigate reality at different paces.
The production team explained, “Namgoong Ho and Lee Mi-do are not a couple whose relationship is faltering because they don’t love each other; rather, they are a couple facing more complex dilemmas precisely because they’ve been together for so long.” They added, “Please watch to see how the ten years they’ve spent together will unfold from the very first episode, and what emotions they will reveal when confronted with realistic problems that cannot be easily solved by love alone.”
“You, Da-yeon” is directed by Hwang Seung-ki and Lee Ga-ram, with a screenplay by writer Yoo Soo-ji. It will be available in over 240 countries worldwide via the online video service (OTT) Amazon Prime Video. The premiere airs on the 12th at 9:20 p.m.
