SAMSUNG C&T CORPORATION announced on the 13th that the motion to select a construction contractor was approved at the Mokhwa Apartments Redevelopment Association’s general meeting held the previous day.

The Mokhwa Apartments redevelopment project involves constructing three buildings ranging from 7 stories underground to 49 stories above ground, comprising 420 units and ancillary facilities, in the area around 30 Yeouido-dong, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul. The construction cost totals approximately 512.2 billion won.

The project site is adjacent to Yeouinaru Station on Subway Line 5, and Yeouido Hangang Park is located directly in front of the complex. Nearby landmarks include The Hyundai Seoul, IFC Mall, and Yeouido Elementary, Middle, and High Schools.

SAMSUNG C&T CORPORATION has proposed “RAEMIAN Y’NITY” as the new name for the complex. The name combines the letter “Y,” which stands for Yeouido, with the meanings of “Dignity” and “Infinity.”

The design highlights views of the Han River as a key element. By separating and extending the central section of the residential buildings and opening up the corners, the layout is designed so that all 420 units have a view of the Han River. The project features unit-specific floor plans, including two- and three-sided open layouts and panoramic designs, along with 2.95-meter-high ceilings and panoramic windows up to 12.4 meters long.

The exterior features a “Y”-shaped facade and a “Blooming Crown” design, where the upper part of the building appears to unfold. Landscape lighting extending from the central plaza to the top floor will also be installed.

Community facilities are planned on a scale of 1,135 pyeong, an increase of 300 pyeong from the cooperative’s original proposal of 835 pyeong. Amenities will include a fitness center, golf practice range, sauna, and Pilates studio, as well as a lounge and terrace offering views of the Han River.

Landscaped spaces exclusively for residents, totaling approximately 800 pyeong, will be created on the upper level of the podium and on the pilotis of each building. The underground parking garage will feature 2.6-meter-wide expanded parking bays, drop-off zones for each building, a dry car wash area, and storage units for each household.

The homeowners’ association is also pursuing a plan to directly connect the complex’s sunken area to Exit 4 of Yeouinaru Station and to create a public elevated pedestrian walkway leading to the Han River Park.

Lim Cheol-jin, Head of the Housing Sales Division at SAMSUNG C&T CORPORATION, stated, “The Yeouido Mokhwa Apartments is a highly exclusive development site that embodies the value of both the Han River and Yeouido,” adding, “By pooling SAMSUNG C&T CORPORATION’s capabilities—including differentiated design and global super-tall building technology—we will complete a residential masterpiece that will shine even brighter as time goes on.”

Following its work on the DAEKYO Apartments in Yeouido last year, SAMSUNG C&T CORPORATION has now secured the construction contract for the Mokhwa Apartments as well. The company plans to participate in bidding for nearby redevelopment projects, including the Yeouido Pilot Apartments.
