Announcing the label’s launch on the 14th, 78 RECORDS stated, “We will communicate closely with the members and fully support THE BOYZ’s group activities.” They added, “We also plan to simultaneously prepare for the discovery of new artists.” THE BOYZ debuted in December 2017 under Cracker Entertainment, a label affiliated with Kakao Entertainment, and were active under IST Entertainment for approximately three years starting in November 2021. They subsequently joined One Hundred Label in December 2024 but have been embroiled in a dispute over their exclusive contracts since early this year, citing issues such as unpaid royalties. Last April, the court granted a preliminary injunction filed by THE BOYZ members to suspend the validity of their exclusive contracts. Following the court’s decision, the members joined different agencies to pursue individual activities. Seven Eight Records, separately from this, is dedicated exclusively to THE BOYZ’s group activities.
