[Edaily Starin YUN GI BACK Reporter] The group Big Ocean is embarking on a global tour connecting the U.S. and Europe. Their identity as the “world’s first sign language idol group” is now expanding beyond domestic buzz to include overseas performances and international stages. (Photo courtesy of Parasta Entertainment) According to their agency, Parastar Entertainment, Big Ocean kicked off the “Big Ocean US Fall Tour 2026” on the 13th with a performance in New York City. The first show in New York was a sell-out, confirming the strong presence of their local fanbase. Starting in New York, this U.S. tour will continue through eight cities, including Atlanta, Charlotte, Orlando, Chicago, Los Angeles, Phoenix, and Houston. It is significant in that the group has expanded its reach beyond a one-off overseas engagement to a full-scale tour connecting major North American cities. After completing their U.S. schedule, they will move on to Europe. They will meet with local fans through concerts in Cologne, Germany, on October 28; Paris, France, on October 31; and London, UK, on November 3. Their activities beyond the concerts are also noteworthy. Big Ocean is scheduled to attend the “Digital Flagship” event, held during the UN General Assembly on the 21st, where they will deliver a speech and perform. This will be an opportunity for the group—which has long combined sign language with music—to convey their message directly on the global stage. Big Ocean is a three-member group consisting of Chan-yeon, PJ, and Ji-seok, and has continued its unique activities by combining sign language with music and performance. This North American and European tour, along with their participation in the UN event, is expected to serve as a test of how far they can expand into overseas markets as a performance IP, moving beyond the symbolic status of being “sign language idols.” In particular, the fact that their first New York concert sold out is significant, as it indicates that Big Ocean’s global activities are not merely symbolic but are translating into actual audience demand. All eyes are on how Big Ocean, which emphasizes both musicality and its message, will build a fanbase in overseas markets.
