(Photo courtesy of Megabox) MegaBox announced on its official website on the 14th, “The MegaBox Sinchon branch will cease operations as of the 21st.” The company added, “We sincerely thank all customers who have patronized the Sinchon branch,” and provided information on nearby Megabox locations, such as Hongdae and Sangam World Cup. The Megabox Sinchon branch, which opened in September 2006, is closing its doors after 20 years. The Megabox Dongdaemun branch is also scheduled to close after operating until the end of this month. Meanwhile, Megabox Joongang filed a petition with the Seoul Bankruptcy Court in June to initiate corporate reorganization proceedings, and the court subsequently approved the petition. Along with Megabox Joongang, JTBC, Contentre Joongang, Joongang P&I, and Joongang Holdings have also entered corporate reorganization proceedings.
