[Edaily Reporter KIM SAE-MI ] WONTECH ( WONTECH(336570)) announced on the 15th that it will acquire 11,689 shares (a 7.79% stake) of its Japanese subsidiary, “Japan M&B Holdings Co., Ltd.,” for 10.9 billion won in cash. This amount represents 6.87% of WONTECH’s consolidated equity of 157.4 billion won as of the end of last year.
Japan M&B Holdings is an investment and asset management company headquartered in Tokyo, Japan, and was established on February 27 of this year. Its largest shareholder is “Invictus Japan Healthcare Private Equity Fund 1,” which holds a 24.98% stake. The CEO is Oh Hong-jae.
Previously, on May 9, WONTECH held a board meeting and unanimously approved the acquisition of a stake in Japan’s M&B Holdings. At the time, the board stated, “(This acquisition) is intended to secure an early foothold in the growing clinic network market through a partnership with a promising local company in the Japanese healthcare market—which has high barriers to entry—and to establish a bridgehead for expansion into Asian and global markets.”
