[Edaily Starin YUN GI BACK Reporter] Singer Kim Heung-guk is turning his long-hidden struggle with hair loss into an opportunity for a new chapter in his career. Having previously modeled wigs, he has now taken on his first-ever role as a spokesperson for hair loss products, calling himself the so-called “cheat code for hair loss.”

According to entertainment industry sources on the 17th, Kim Heung-guk was recently selected as the promotional model for “Hair Bomb.” He shared his thoughts, saying, “I, too, have suffered mentally for a long time due to hair loss,” and added, “Now, I want to be someone who can give hope to those struggling with hair loss.”
His struggles with hair loss have persisted since the early days of his career. Kim Heung-guk reflected, “As recently as the early 1980s, I had a really full head of hair,” adding, “After ‘Tiger Butterfly’ became a huge hit and my broadcasting schedule became busier, my hair started falling out little by little.” About 10 years ago, he publicly revealed on a broadcast that he was experiencing hair loss and wore a wig, and he even served as a model for wig products.
He said his concerns have grown even more recently as stress has compounded the issue. He confided that his hair loss worsened while navigating life as a “goose dad” and dealing with various social issues. Rather than hiding it, he plans to share his personal experiences to build empathy with others facing similar struggles.

He views this modeling gig not merely as a standard advertising contract, but as an opportunity to share his experiences in a lighthearted way. Recalling how he was once dubbed the “cheat code of variety shows,” Kim Heung-guk displayed his signature wit, saying, “Now I want to become the ‘cheat code for hair loss.’ Ugh, bring it on!”
He plans to use this modeling opportunity to introduce the product to his friends and acquaintances. During Chuseok, he intends to give related products as gifts to friends struggling with hair loss, and he’s also considering using them as prizes for the audience at his first solo concert, which he’s planning for the end of the year.
“I want to regain my strength—both physically and mentally,” Kim Heung-guk said. “I’ll continue my work in a healthy and energetic way, bringing laughter and hope to those struggling with hair loss.”
