In the episode titled “I Went to Eat Sashimi and Came Back Having Fallen for Someone,” recently uploaded to the YouTube channel “Yoon Mi-ra,” Yoon Mi-ra visited the Noryangjin Fish Market for a sashimi eating broadcast. While eating, Yoon Mi-ra reminisced about her days in the entertainment industry. She confessed, “There used to be a lot of sponsors back then.” “Back then, we didn’t have cell phones—just landlines. Someone would call my house and say, ‘There’s someone who wants to support you behind the scenes,’” she explained. “Then my mom would say, ‘Is my daughter a courtesan? Hang up the phone.’” Yoon Mi-ra said, “There were many people who said, ‘I’ll look out for you,’ ‘I’ll buy you a car,’ or ‘I’ll sponsor you,’” adding, “That’s how you end up becoming a ‘second wife.’ That’s why there are so many girls whose lives have been ruined.” She recalled receiving sponsorship offers numerous times, saying, “In my early 20s, I came home from a shoot and saw a black car with people dressed in black standing there. My mom told me to hurry inside, so I went in, but those people started knocking on the door. My mom absolutely refused to open it. They gave up and left.” She also criticized the entertainment industry at the time, saying of past directors, “There were a lot of bad people.” Meanwhile, Yoon Mi-ra recently launched her YouTube channel, “Yoon Mi-ra,” and is currently interacting with her subscribers.
