Walt Disney Company Korea, the importer and distributor, announced on the 21st that “*Wild Horse Nine* has been confirmed for release in South Korea on November 4.”
Director Martin McDonagh’s new film, “Wild Horse Nine,” was nominated in the Competition Section at the 83rd Venice International Film Festival alongside Director Lee Chang-dong’s “Possible Love” and received an enthusiastic response, including a 13-minute standing ovation immediately following its world premiere. The film, which had been touted as a strong contender for the Golden Lion, won the Volpi Cup for Best Actor (John Malkovich) at the Venice Film Festival.
“Wild Horse Nine” is a mystery spy thriller set against the backdrop of the 1973 Chilean coup, in which CIA agents “Chris” and “Lee,” dispatched to Easter Island, become entangled in secrets from the past and an unknown conspiracy while carrying out their mission.
The “Icon” section of the 31st Busan International Film Festival, which showcases the latest works by world-renowned master directors, has invited both Director Lee Chang-dong’s *Possible Love*—which caused a sensation at this year’s 83rd Venice International Film Festival—and Director Martin McDonagh’s *Wild Horse Nine*.
“Wild Horse Nine” will screen four times starting on the 8th of next month and will be unveiled to Korean audiences for the first time at this year’s Busan International Film Festival.
