Ahead of the Chuseok holiday, competition for advance ticket sales is heating up with the release of new films such as "The Assassin(s)."

According to the Korean Film Council’s integrated computer network on the 22nd, “The Intern” drew 33,849 viewers on the 21st, bringing its cumulative audience count to 437,744.
Released on the 16th, “The Intern” has maintained its box office momentum by holding the top spot for six consecutive days since its release. “The Martian,” which ranked second during the same period, drew 32,938 viewers. Its cumulative attendance stands at 11,250,551.
In third place was the horror film “Obsession,” which drew 19,569 viewers, bringing its cumulative total to 721,278. “Resident Evil: Night Zero,” in fourth place, drew 11,035 viewers, while “Assassins,” in fifth place, drew 4,274. “Assassins” is set to open on the 23rd.
Ahead of the Chuseok holiday box office rush, “Assassins” outpaced “The Odyssey” in advance ticket sales. As of 8:08 a.m. on the 22nd, “Assassins” had sold 185,022 tickets, ranking first in advance ticket sales. “The Odyssey” ranked second with 124,937 tickets sold.
