DaewooEngineering&Construction’s BAROCON System is an integrated construction management system that supports all aspects of construction projects, from sales, bidding, and contracting to design, procurement, construction, and completion. The UI conversion project was undertaken to address the technical limitations of the existing ActiveX-based environment and to enhance user convenience and operational efficiency.

TOMATOSYSTEM Co.,Ltd. was selected as the final contractor following a competitive proposal process and a BMT (Benchmark Test), and carried out the project to migrate the existing ActiveX-based work screens and processes to an HTML5 web standard environment.

TOMATOSYSTEM Co.,Ltd.’s web UI/UX platform, “eXBuilder6,” and its legacy UI automatic conversion solution, “eXConverter,” were utilized for this project. The approach involved analyzing the existing screen structures and business processes and then restructuring them to comply with web standards.

In particular, eXConverter was used to automatically convert more than 90% of the existing UI screens. By reducing repetitive manual work, the project optimized the development time and man-hours required for a large-scale system conversion, allowing the development team to focus on improving key business functions and enhancing the user-centered UI and UX.

TOMATOSYSTEM Co.,Ltd. plans to use this DaewooEngineering&Construction project as a key reference for expanding its legacy modernization business in the manufacturing and construction sectors.

Core systems in the manufacturing and construction industries—such as Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)—have been in use for a long time. Due to their complex business processes and extensive screen structures, a complete replacement would be costly and time-consuming. Accordingly, the company’s strategy is to address the demand for transitioning to the latest web standards while preserving the assets and business frameworks of existing systems.

TOMATOSYSTEM Co.,Ltd. plans to expand its penetration of the digital transformation and legacy modernization markets in the manufacturing and construction sectors based on XBuilder 6 and XConverter.
