Users can watch Arirang TV’s live broadcasts on SOOP without needing a separate subscription-based broadcasting service. The service will also utilize SOOP’s key features, such as real-time chat and the “watch together” function. In particular, the chat translation feature allows users who speak different languages to communicate while watching the broadcast together. Launched in 1996, Arirang TV has been providing Korean current affairs, cultural, and informational content in English to 140 countries worldwide via satellite, IPTV, and Over-the-Top (OTT) services. Through this collaboration, the network plans to expand its viewership to include live streaming audiences and further develop interactive live services in the future.
