According to Netflix’s official site, Tudum, “Scandal” reached No. 7 on the global Top 10 non-English shows list just three days after its release. Since its release on September 18, “Scandal” has recorded 1.9 million views (the number of views divided by the show’s total runtime) and 14.5 million viewing hours. It entered the top 10 in a total of 10 countries, including South Korea, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Qatar, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam. “Scandal” is a Netflix series that tells the story of “Lady Jo,” a woman with exceptional talents who feels confined by her role as a woman in the Joseon Dynasty, and “Jo Won,” the Joseon Dynasty’s greatest ladies’ man, as they engage in a daring and dangerous love wager—and the story of “Hee-yeon,” a woman entangled in that wager. It is a remake of the 2003 film “Scandal: A Story of Passion in Joseon.” Among other Korean productions, the tvN Saturday-Sunday drama “Four Hands” ranked 10th. “Four Hands” recorded 1.4 million views and 11.8 million viewing hours, and made it into the top 10 in 18 countries, including Bolivia, Chile, Peru, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Vietnam.
