On the 23rd, MAUM.AI, INC. announced in a regulatory filing that it had been selected as the lead organization for a new project titled “Development of an Integrated Response Platform for Ship-wide Autonomous Safety Management of Fully Autonomous Vessels,” which is being managed by the Korea Institute for Industrial Technology Planning and Evaluation (KIEP), an agency under the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy.

The total project budget for this initiative is 26.17601 billion won. Of this amount, 19 billion won comes from government funding, and 7.17601 billion won from private sector contributions. MAUM.AI, INC. has been allocated 8.55 billion won in government-funded R&D support and 4.23027 billion won in private sector contributions.

The project will run for 6 years and 6 months, from July 1, 2026, to December 31, 2032. MAUM.AI, INC. will serve as the lead organization, with six partner institutions—including Lee Young SY CO., LTD.—participating in the project.

The development goal is to develop and demonstrate an integrated platform in which AI detects and assesses emergency situations—such as fires, flooding, and gas leaks—that may occur on fully autonomous ships, and then autonomously responds by coordinating with onboard safety systems. The objective is to build a closed-loop autonomous safety management system that goes beyond merely detecting accidents to verifying the results of the response.

Through this project, MAUM.AI, INC. plans to commercialize an AI-based autonomous safety emergency response system and localize its core technologies. Based on this, the company expects to lay the groundwork for entering the domestic and international markets for autonomous ships and smart shipbuilding equipment.

MAUM.AI, INC.’s equity capital stood at 26,095,410,000 won as of the end of last year on a consolidated basis. Accordingly, the 8,550,000,000 won in government-funded R&D funding allocated to MAUM.AI, INC. represents 32.76% of its equity capital.
