[Edaily Reporter Ham Ji-Hyun ] DL E&C CO., LTD. is establishing a full-cycle technology collaboration system that connects small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and specialized firms—from joint research and development to performance verification, patents and certifications, on-site application, and commercialization. Rather than merely identifying technologies or conducting one-time proof-of-concept (PoC) tests, the company is focusing its collaboration efforts on developing technologies that can be applied in real-world settings and commercialized.

According to DL E&C CO., LTD. on the 27th, a representative achievement is the “Waterproofing System for Drywall in Bathrooms,” jointly developed with HansolHomeDeco. The two companies advanced the technology through joint R&D. This technology has received certification as a New Construction Technology from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and is currently being applied at Acro and e-Pyeonhan Sesang construction sites. Since 2021, DL E&C has been collaborating with KANGNAM JEVISCO to jointly develop “paint for improving the durability of multi-family housing,” which has also received the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport’s New Construction Technology certification.

In addition to actual product sales, the company has also continued to collaborate with other industries. “The Silent Hood,” jointly developed with Himpel, went through technology development and commercialization, resulting in sales of approximately 19,000 units last year. Together with TankTech, the company adapted ship fire suppression technology for the construction sector to develop the world’s first “Electric Vehicle Fire Suppression System for Buildings.”

The company is striving not only to apply jointly developed technologies to individual sites but also to standardize them company-wide and expand their reach into external markets. The AI-based “Pile Penetration Measurement System (PAMS),” developed with Youngshin, has been applied to all PHC (High-Strength Concrete) pile design sites since its standardization in 2022. The drone-platform-based earthwork and pile construction management solution, jointly developed with Meisa, has been applied to over 70 sites since its standardization in 2023. The AI-based exterior wall crack detection solution “CrackN Drone,” developed with Sungun Engineering, is currently in operation at over 90 sites.

The company is also continuously expanding joint development efforts with specialized firms possessing strong technological competitiveness. Since 2023, DL E&C CO., LTD. has been conducting joint research and development with GAONCABLE on ACF (integrated conduit) cables, resulting in the development of construction methods and dedicated accessories. Performance and workability verification have been completed at new apartment construction sites, and the technology is scheduled to be fully implemented in new apartment buildings starting next year. GAONCABLE is also expanding its technological competitiveness in the power infrastructure sector, as evidenced by its recent signing of a 200 billion won contract to supply bus ducts to an AI data center in the United States.

Technical collaboration in new business areas through partnerships with global technology companies is also gaining momentum. DL E&C CO., LTD. has maintained a cooperative relationship with X Energy, a U.S.-based small modular reactor (SMR) company, since participating in its Series C funding round in 2023. Recently, the company signed a contract for the standardized design of the fourth-generation SMR currently under development by X Energy.
