[Edaily Reporter Lee Youn-jung ] The male R&B duo Fly to the Sky is making a comeback as a full group for the first time in eight years. Following Hwanhee’s announcement of the comeback with Brian on a TV show, Brian also confirmed the news on his social media accounts.

On the 27th, Brian posted on his social media, “You’ve heard the news, right? What Hwanhee said is true. We’re coming back,” adding, “If you wait just a little longer, we might make our comeback very soon.” The photos he shared showed Hwanhee and Brian together, as well as Brian in the middle of a recording session.

The news of Fly to the Sky’s comeback was first revealed on the previous day’s episode of the KBS2 variety show “Men Who Do Housework Season 2.” On that day, Hwanhee made a surprise announcement, saying, “Fly to the Sky is making a comeback after eight years.”

Hwanhee’s solo concert last year served as the catalyst for the two to decide to perform together again. After Brian appeared as a guest on stage at that time, the two continued to discuss Fly to the Sky’s activities. Hwanhee explained, “Brian made it clear that he wanted to return to the stage.”

Hwanhee, who has recently been active as a trot singer as well, emphasized that Fly to the Sky’s comeback does not mean he will stop his trot activities. “I was worried that trot fans might be disappointed,” he said. “It’s not that I’m giving up trot. I plan to continue performing Fly to the Sky’s music while also continuing my ‘soul trot’ activities.”

Fly to the Sky, which debuted in 1999, is a male duo consisting of Hwanhee and Brian. They gained popularity with hit songs such as “Day by Day,” “Sea of Love,” “Missing You,” “Like a Man,” and “Even If It Hurts.” As the duo, whose group activities had been sparse since their 10th studio album in 2019, has announced a full-group comeback, attention is now focused on the new music and performances they will unveil.
