On the 28th, Shim Eun-kyung’s agency, Fanfare, told E-Daily regarding rumors of her appearing in the film “Tamako,” “We received an offer but decided to decline.”
Woozi’s agency, Idam Entertainment, also informed Edaily, “We were offered a role in the film, but after careful consideration, we decided to decline.”
Previously, on the 26th, The Korea Daily reported that Shim Eun-kyung and Woo Ji would star in the Korea-Japan co-production “Tamako.” “Tamako” is reportedly a film that tells the story of a Japanese boy who lost his parents in the 1945 atomic bombing of Hiroshima, followed a Korean resident in Japan to Korea, and subsequently experienced the Korean War.
As the film deals with the atomic bombing, the cast faced a barrage of criticism. On the 27th, Woo Joo personally denied the casting rumors during a live broadcast, stating that he had declined the role. “The article was inaccurate,” Woo Joo said. “I received the script and, after careful consideration with my agency, decided to decline. The article was published in the midst of that process.”
Shim Eun-kyung appeared in the film *Day and Night Are for Each Other*, which is set to be released this November. Woods has been cast in director Lee Mo-gae’s film *Nambeol* and is set to make her commercial film debut.
