[Edaily Starin YUN GI BACK Reporter] Bestie’s “Conditions of Love,” released 13 years ago, has been revived through short-form video platforms. As it attracts not only fans who remember the song from the past but also a new generation of users, it is expanding its resurgence beyond domestic music charts to include charts across Asia.

As of 9:00 a.m. on the 28th, “Conditions of Love” ranked 64th on Melon’s Top 100. It also ranked 7th on Apple Music’s Korea Top 100 and 20th on YouTube Music’s Weekly Top 100. The song has entered overseas charts in Singapore, Vietnam, and Taiwan, showing a rising trend that extends beyond Korea.
On the global music search platform Shazam, the song topped the Korean chart and went on to claim the number one spot on the charts in Thailand and Vietnam as well. It also reached No. 11 on the iTunes Taiwan chart, garnering renewed attention across various platforms and regions.
The proliferation of short-form content is cited as the main driving force behind this resurgence. Content featuring “Conditions of Love” has generated approximately 30,000 YouTube Shorts, 570,000 TikTok videos, and 40,000 Instagram Reels. Cumulative streams on YouTube Music have surpassed 33 million, and the music video has exceeded 19.3 million views.
Released in 2013, “Conditions for Love” is characterized by lyrics that candidly describe the qualities of an ideal partner and a highly catchy, repetitive chorus. Recently, its short, intuitive segments have resonated with short-form content, attracting not only fans who were familiar with the song back then but also younger users encountering it for the first time.
This once again confirms the so-called “old song comeback” phenomenon, where past tracks are rediscovered through short-form content, and online buzz translates into actual chart performance. As interest that began in South Korea spreads to the rest of Asia, all eyes are on how far the resurgence of “Conditions of Love”—13 years after its release—will go.
