According to an E-Daily investigation on the 29th, Nancy Rang recently completed the process of terminating her exclusive contract with her agency, Megaton Entertainment. Discussions regarding the contract termination began after she was caught driving under the influence, and all related paperwork has now been finalized.
A source familiar with the situation at Nancy Rang’s agency stated, “The incident involving drunk driving shattered the mutual trust between the two parties, ultimately leading to the termination of the contract.”
Nancy Rang was caught by police driving under the influence on a road in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, at around 3:45 a.m. on the 8th. Her blood alcohol concentration at the time was determined to exceed 0.08%, the threshold for license revocation.
After the incident became public, Nancy Rang apologized, stating, “I had one or two glasses of champagne at a friend’s birthday party and got behind the wheel because I was close to home,” adding, “It was a careless decision.” However, regarding the term “heavily intoxicated,” she clarified that “it does not reflect the actual situation” and asked for the facts to be accurately verified.
Controversy also continued regarding her actions following the DUI incident. Without taking any time off to reflect, Nancy Lang continued her promotional activities by posting a series of videos and reviews related to her solo art exhibition on her social media accounts. While it appeared she was promoting the exhibition as it neared its end, criticism arose regarding the appropriateness of her actions given that they occurred immediately after she was caught driving under the influence.
