[E-Daily Reporter KWON HYE-ME ] In a public opinion poll on support for potential presidential candidates from the broader progressive and conservative camps, Kim Min-seok, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, and Han Dong-hoon, an independent lawmaker, were found to be leading, respectively.

According to the results of a public opinion poll released on the 29th by Han Gil Research—commissioned by KNA25 and Poly News and conducted on the 27th and 28th among 1,011 people nationwide aged 18 and older—Chairman Kim Min-seok ranked first in support for the next presidential candidate among the broad progressive camp with 14.1%.

He was followed by former Democratic Party Chairman Jeong Cheong-rae (8.0%), former Prime Minister Kim Boo-kyum (7.1%), Democratic Party lawmaker Song Young-gil (6.1%), Presidential Chief of Staff Kang Hoon-sik, Cho Kuk, Director of the Cho Kuk Innovation Party’s Policy Research Institute (5.9%), and Gyeonggi Province Governor Choo Mi-ae (4.3%). “Other” accounted for 7.0%, “None” for 27.2%, and “Don’t know” for 14.4%.

In a survey on support for potential conservative presidential candidates, Rep. Han Dong-hoon took the top spot with 19.6%, ahead of People Power Party Chairman Jang Dong-hyuk (14.9%) and Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon (10.1%).

They were followed by former lawmaker Yoo Seung-min (5.5%), former Minister of Employment and Labor Kim Moon-soo (4.7%), People Power Party lawmaker Ahn Cheol-soo (2.4%), and Reform Party lawmaker Lee Jun-seok (1.8%). “Other” accounted for 5.3%, “None” for 23.2%, and “Don’t know” for 12.5%.
