[Edaily Reporter Son Eui-Yeon ] RM (Kim Nam-joon) of BTS, a global ambassador for the National Museum of Korea, has generously donated 100 million won to support Korea’s cultural heritage.

The National Museum of Korea announced on the 30th that BTS’s RM donated 100 million won to the National Museum of Korea Association, requesting that the funds be used to acquire items for the museum’s collection.

RM’s donation was made on the 29th through the National Museum of Korea Foundation, a nonprofit organization that supports the museum. RM’s donation will be used by the National Museum of Korea Foundation to acquire and donate museum artifacts in the future.

The National Museum of Korea Foundation carries out museum support projects such as the acquisition of artifacts, academic sponsorship, and the development of museum facilities. Previously, the foundation purchased and donated to the museum a Joseon-era “Mother-of-Pearl Inlaid Lotus Vine Pattern Box” in 2023 and a “Cursive Script” by the renowned calligrapher Hwang Gi-ro from the early Joseon period in 2024.

RM has been consistently supporting the arts and culture sector. RM stated, “As a Global Ambassador for the National Museum of Korea, I am delighted to be able to support the museum,” adding, “I will continue to work together to promote the museum and our culture.”

A museum official stated, “We expect RM’s ongoing support for the arts and culture to further increase interest in our cultural heritage and the museum,” adding, “The National Museum of Korea will also strive to live up to this interest by presenting even better exhibitions and programs.”
