[Edaily Starin KIM HYUNSIK Reporter] Billboard announced on the 30th (local time) that the cumulative revenue from the global tour “ARIRANG” by the group BTS has surpassed $500 million (approximately 680 billion won). BTS is the first pop group—not a rock band—to generate such revenue from a single tour.

“ARIRANG” is the world tour that BTS has been conducting since last April. After kicking off the tour in South Korea, BTS traveled to Japan, the United States, Mexico, Spain, Belgium, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, and Canada.
This cumulative revenue figure reflects concert performance data through August. Billboard reported, “Fewer than 20 tours in Boxscore history have generated $500 million in revenue from a single tour,” adding, “BTS has become the seventh group-level artist to surpass $500 million on a single tour.” It further noted, “The six groups that previously set this record were all rock bands,” and emphasized, “BTS is the first pop group to achieve this level of revenue.”
Among these, BTS claimed the No. 1 spot on the Billboard “Top Tours” chart for August, which was announced today.
Through 12 concerts held throughout August, BTS generated a total of $171.7 million (approximately 230 billion won) in ticket sales and drew an audience of about 800,000. This marks the second-highest monthly revenue in the history of Billboard’s Boxscore rankings, trailing only the $179.3 million recorded by Beyoncé in August 2023.
BTS’s “Arirang” tour, comprising 88 shows across 34 cities, will continue through March of next year. Billboard projected that “with about 40 shows remaining, cumulative revenue is expected to approach $1 billion (approximately 1.36 trillion won).”
